long time, no update.
the reason being: i have been off class for a week.
oh, how i miss the scanners in the print lab.
for the time being, i (literally) dusted off my awful excuse for a scanner and did some experimenting. despite the quality of the scans, and the fact that for the first time flickr has really taken a toll on the vibrancy of my images, i am pleased with these.

they are watercolor on transparency on cut paper on transparency.
this is me manually creating transparency overlays. PS was only used for cropping, resizing, and some brightness correction.

yeah i printed on the wrong side of the paper over the watermark…what?
now this is just an advertisement for Rives BFK. (facepalm)

front (above) and back (below) covers of the mock up for the 2nd edition of UH.
i will say that i am not too happy with this one, and the last one is beginning to wear on me as well. maybe more will change once i switch to simple xerox copies, but these just aren’t cutting it for me.
i was going to post the insides, but i’m not too fond, so if you want one email me at: wconno@saic.edu
OR
unspeakablehorrors@gmail.com
and we can try to work something out.
(i don’t intend on selling these, but trade or donation will be accepted…)

and as promised (sort of), here are scans of the 1st edition….the front and back covers that is:

i got a mystery roll of film from my sears camera developed yesterday.
always a good time, although these are just about the only acceptable photos from that roll.
the first one is of jimmy playing drums while reid did some liquid light work on the overhead projector in the Undercroft.
and this one i just thought was fun:

this is an excerpt from one of 4 live tracks recorded last winter at the Undercroft.

Lachlan Fletcher assembled a group comprised of Jimmy, Reid, and myself to come over and improvise some tracks with him and dubbed the project Fancy Gargoyle.

we set up about 4 mics in the room and let loose.

this is a portion of the unmixed result.

these are some pencil sketches i was working on for the 3rd edition of UH.
i scanned them in as a line drawing to avoid halftone dots, and i really enjoy the crunchiness of them.
i used the face below in a recent print trial, and depite the frustration (xeroxes((?)) do not seem to want to transfer this line well) i got one pull that i really like. maybe i will post that soon. but for today…. i am done.

this is a 2 color test of some lettering i was working out.
again, xerox litho prints and my complete guessing of the registration somehow worked out in one out of 4 of these. good enough for me.
also, i don’t think i will be printing my final works on paper like this.
i’m thinking transparencies… o0o0o
